Then you’ve come to the right blog! This is a common question and we would love to tell you more about it, so that your menstrual cup stays looking like new for as long as possible! <\/span><\/p>\n

As you use the cup for a long time, it discolors. Unfortunately, it is not possible to avoid this completely. But not to worry! Fortunately, there are homemade recipes that will help you keep the cup clean and maintain its original color for as long as possible. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

You do not have to worry about stains appearing on your menstrual cup; this does not mean that you have washed it badly or that it is no longer safe for use. Blood is a liquid that easily stains the surfaces it comes into contact with. Medical silicone is no exception, especially if this material comes into contact with blood for hours each month. The stains occur because the blood particles oxidize and adhere to the wall of the menstrual cup, which will change color with frequent use. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

After using your cup, we recommend that you clean it with cold water and soap specially designed for this purpose. After cleaning, you’re just not quite done. You must sterilize the cup before use at all times. Don’t have much time or don’t want to put much effort into this? Then we have a great solution! Our sterilizer is specially designed to easily sterilize your menstrual cup. Another possibility is to put your cup in a pan with water and let it boil for about 3-5 minutes. This is enough to kill the bacteria that may try to fester on the surface and this helps with the prevention and removal of unpleasant odors that occur while wearing it. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Should you want to address your discoloration, you can soak your cup in a glass full of hydrogen peroxide. Let it stand for a few minutes and give it a few swirls so that the liquid penetrates all sides and folds of the cup. By doing this, you can drastically reduce the discoloration of yellow spots and the color of your cup can be preserved longer. We do not recommend \u201cbleaching\u201d your cup in this manner more than three times a year, as this could damage the material. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
